D23 Trip: Hotel

So excited because I leave for California the day after tomorrow!! If you’re following along, welcome back! I’m venturing out to visit California to check out all 3 days of D23, plus visit the Disneyland Resort. Yesterday I posted on my transportation options, because I’m doing the trip without a car. Today, I’ll go over my hotel options!

My Hotel I’m staying at for most of the trip is Motel 6 Disney Maingate.

And I’m actually really excited. My trip gets a little complicated, because I’m checking into Motel 6 on Thursday, then checking into a new hotel with expo friends for Friday and Saturday, and then checking back into Motel 6 Disney Maingate for Sunday and Monday.

For this entry, I’m only going to post on my experiences with Motel 6, since this is the one I booked on my own. First off, I chose it because of the pricing, but also because it’s a short walk to the maingate of Disneyland. It’s less than a 15 min. walk from door to door, plus there’s an optional shuttle service if I choose it. Also, it’s around the corner from Gardenwalk Anaheim so I can grab some late night snacks!

I’m actually really excited to stay here because it was newly renovated and the rooms look really great! Also, my stay on Thursday night is right before the D23 expo, and I booked it only a month in advance and was still able to get a room! The total after taxes will come to approx.. $100. My stay on Sunday and Monday totals about $150. The other big reason I like this property is it’s a short walk to the Anaheim Convention Center where I’ll be spending a lot of my time.

The customer service over the phone with the front desk has been great so far. They offer early-check in if its available, and they will also hold your luggage before or after you have checked in or out for resort convenience. An option I will definitely utilize when I’m in-between hotels on Friday. Can’t wait to post photos once I check in and give you a recap! For now, very reasonably priced and incredibly close!
