Force Friday Week 1 came, and while I didn’t camp out in Times Square for a chance at getting a Star Wars pin or a chance to purchase a BB-8 Droid (if you DID get one, ‘Hi, I’m Erika, your new best friend.’), I did casually pop into Toys R Us at Times Square to enjoy a bit of the hype.
What is Force Friday? Every Friday exclusive merchandise for Force Awakens will be released at Disney Store, Toys R Us and Target. Today was the first #ForceFriday as well as the first reveal of Force Awakens merchandise.
When it comes to movie merchandise, I am the most clueless person when it comes to which items are the must-haves and which ones are worthless. Still, I’m so happy I went to Toys R Us Times Square today. It was really cool to see people photographing the merch displays and marveling at the products and sharing ‘First time I saw Star Wars’ stories in line.
As I wandered through the store, I noticed certain characters getting revealed for the first time as action figures and I was wondering how large a role they would play in the story. Also, Toys R Us had an amazing display of vintage Star Wars toys to enjoy.
