If you’re stopping by the blog today, you’re probably noticing 2 things.
- Subway Mouse blogged today!! It’s been ages! We thought she didn’t blog anymore!
- What is this tip thing and why should I tune in?
As a lot of you know, I’ve been primarily Youtubing all things Disney, and this poor blog wasn’t getting enough of my attention and I wanted to fix that. Since my Disney trips are far and few between, I’ve been sitting on the outside, trying to desperately fix my Disney withdrawal and I came to an awesome conclusion. What if I was a sort of virtual tour guide for my online friends who love Disney as much as I do? When I used to work at Disneyland, I loved planning trips for my friend’s and family and it was so easy since I was surrounded by the happenings of the resort on a daily basis. The great thing about the internet, is that everything you need to know to plan your day is online, but its usually in 10 different places. On my site, starting today, you can stop by every morning for my tips on enjoying the day at the park. Everything from ride closures and weather to special must-sees. It’s all in one place. Think of it this way: If we were to go to the park together, this is what I’d make sure we do. Enjoy, everyone! And be sure to subscribe for daily tips sent right to your email!
Tip #1: Pete’s Dragon
07.01.16 Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure
Disney’s California Adventure: 8AM-9PM (Extra Magic Hours 7-8AM)
WEATHER:66-79 degrees (cloudy)
***It may be slightly overcast today, but don’t forget to wear sunscreen and a hat and drink plenty of water. You’ll feel better if you hydrate!
Today is themed to “Pete’s Dragon” for one HUGE reason…Starting today, you can start previewing scenes from the new “Pete’s Dragon” at Disney’s California Adventure! Here are the details:
What: “Pete’s Dragon” preview scenes
*Running time: 10 minutes. 3D clips with in-theater special effects
Where: Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land (Disney’s California Adventure)
When: Starting July 1st for a limited time
Trivia: The original “Pete’s Dragon” was the first Disney film involving animation in which none of the ‘Nine Old Men’ (Disney’s original team of animation) we’re involved.
Wanna theme your beverages to the magical green guy? Here’s some alcoholic and non-alcoholic ideas!
After you check out the preview scenes of “Pete’s Dragon,” head on over to Ariel’s Grotto: Cove Bar. I recommend the Zombie cocktail…because it’s green…
***If you’re going the Cove Bar route, be aware there’s going to be a line to get a spot. It’s crazy popular, but very well worth it. If you’ve got the time to kill, jump in line.
If you’re not feeling particularly boozy (afterall, it’s summer and it’s going to be hot), I’d spring for a Iced Green Tea Latte at Starbucks (located conveniently on Main Street). I’ve been to this location, and Starbucks is simply more magical at Disneyland.
REFURBISHMENTS: This is probably Disneyland’s biggest ride closure time of year, due to construction of Star Wars Land. Here’s what will be closed down today:
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Mark Twain Riverboat
Pirate’s Lair: Tom Sawyer’s Island
Sailing Ship Colombia
***Side-note: Disneyland Railroad is notoriously known as the relaxing way to get around from point A to point B in the park. If you’re as much a fan of the trains as I am, don’t worry! Take some breaks from walking throughout the day.
